Public schools to operate from July 5 to end of April – The New Indian Express

VIJAYAWADA: The in-state Class 1-X student calendar for the 2022-23 academic year contains 220 working days and 80 holidays. Classes for the new academic year will start on July 5 and continue until the end of April.

The Department of School Education on Sunday released the academic calendar prepared by the State Council for Educational Research and Training for 2022-23. The School Education Commissioner, S Suresh Kumar, has instructed the Joint Regional Directors and District Education Officers to ensure the effective implementation of the academic activities mentioned in the calendar.

According to the daytime activities offered to headteachers and teachers from June 28 to July 5, they are to lead parent committee meetings on June 29 and admissions are to start from the same day. They must ensure that admissions to feeder schools start from June 30. Basic facilities in schools should be checked carefully and arrangements should also be made for lunch, the commissioner said.
