Petlaburj CPTC Wins HM Union Trophy for Best Training Institution

Hyderabad: In a major achievement, the Hyderabad City Police Training Center in Petlaburj won the Union Home Minister’s Trophy for the country’s best police training institution for the year 2019-2020. A cash prize of Rs 2 lakh will be handed out with the trophy.

Speaking at a meeting held to commend and commend CPTC staff here on Wednesday, the city’s police commissioner, Anjani Kumar, said the award was “highly coveted, prestigious and highly sought after” as it clearly testifies from the close supervision of senior officers of the Municipal Police, quality of training, exceptional faculty, maintenance of hygiene and a pleasant atmosphere, welfare activities of officers and staff outside the high standards of the administration.

Hyderabad City Police set up a training center in Falaknuma in 2005 where refresher courses for serving police personnel were conducted. In December 2008, a training center was sanctioned by the municipal police for providing basic induction training to civil servants. This was housed in the former CAR headquarters building in Petlaburj, Hyderabad. In August 2019, CPTC moved to the new building opposite Government City College, Hyderabad.
