The Congress-affiliated National Union of Students of India said on Saturday that it would protest against the implementation of the Common Central Universities Entrance Test (CUCET). “The authorities did not take into account the opinions of students and teachers before imposing this decision on the universities. Universities will lose their autonomy under this new admissions system. Moreover, they are anti-poor students as they will not be able to afford expensive coaching classes,” NSUI National Chairman Neeraj Kundan said in a statement.
During its board members meeting here, the organization decided to address various issues regarding the student community, especially CUCET. The student body will also hold webinars and various other events to explain the “demerits” of the national education policy to more and more students, he said.
This will raise his voice against the long-pending army recruitment and Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) results, he said. “The organization will also launch a nationwide membership campaign to connect with new students at colleges and universities and identify new student leaders from across the country,” he said.
