Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A holiday was declared for all public and private schools on Tuesday due to unrelenting rains in many districts like Bhopal, Sehore and Narmadapuram in Bhopal division.
District Education Officer Nitin Saxena said District Collector Avinash Lawania declared a public holiday on Tuesday in all CBSE, Novodya, ICSE, government and private schools due to heavy rain.
Bhopal recorded 13.2cm of rain in the past 24 hours. However, so far Bhopal has recorded 111cm since June 1 while its normal rainfall is 105cm.
According to Superintendent’s Land Registry report, Bairagarh recorded rainfall of 12.3cm while Berasia recorded 11cm and Kolar belt recorded rainfall of 12.5cm in Bhopal district on 16th August.
As for rainfall wise in the regions since June 1 in Bhopal district, Bairagarh recorded 127.4cm rainfall while Berasia recorded 93.9cm and Kolar recorded 111.6cm rainfall.
Similarly, collector Sehore Chandra Mohan Thakur declared a two-day holiday on August 16 and 17 in all public and private schools. Narmadapuram Collector Neeraj Singh has declared a holiday for public and private schools in the district on Tuesday due to heavy rains.
