Let’s go back to South Carolina. We have some recognizable big names when it comes to universities. But you can probably guess the top 2 are the two largest schools in the state and with the most prolific sports teams. As in many states, sports is an important driver for many of South Carolina’s dozens of state colleges and universities. It was a huge factor in my college selection. One that was the best decision I ever made. But getting back to academics, South Carolina has options of all sizes, including large research universities, mid-sized colleges, and small private liberal arts colleges.
