Three prestigious colleges around Chicago have been named among the 10 most expensive private universities in the United States, according to a recently released list.
The Niche Company ranked the best private schools in the country in order of most expensive to least expensive tuition, with the University of Chicago taking second place with tuition of $57,642.
The report states that the University of Chicago would have enrolled a total of 18,452 students in the fall of 2021.
Northwestern University, which was placed one spot above the University of Chicago in the overall ranking, came in at #6 with tuition of $56,550.
At No. 10, the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, costs students $55,046 in tuition, according to the report.
Although not in the top 10, Washington University in St. Louis also ranked among the best private colleges in the United States and was ranked 12th for charging $54,250 in fees reported schooling.
