For Reed Seular Alliance President, Leslie Zukor’s 24th birthday, she visited the Pacific Science Center’s Lucy exhibit in her hometown of Seattle, Washington. Hosted by the Pacific Science Center, the exhibit traced the evolution of the bipedal human through millions of years. That’s right – millions – not thousands – of years. The exhibit concluded with an exposition into brain size expansion in early bipeds, and an up-close look at Lucy, our oldest sketetalized ancestor.
The good news? In the several-room exhibit, there was no mention of “intelligent design”, no extolling of “alternative perspectives” on the origin of man, and no talk of “answers in Genesis”. When Zukor entered into the gift shop, prominently featured was Michael Shermer’s book, Why Darwin Matters, along with several other tomes on evolution. “I enjoyed the exhibit,” Zukor explained. But she also confessed a measure of dissappointment; ”I just wish Lucy would have gotten as much attention as did the Creation Museum.”
